Steve Price. CV.
Summary
Leadership. Strategy. Communication. Problem solving.
I’ve spent nearly four decades understanding problems, finding ways through them and turning ideas into action.
I’ve built and run a business, led teams, worked with senior decision-makers, won and kept clients, developed people and taken projects from first conversation through to delivery.
My career has been in the creative industries. The skills behind it go much wider. I’m interested in where that experience, judgement and way of thinking could be useful next.

What I bring
Problem solving
I’m good at getting into a problem, working out what actually matters and finding a practical way forward.
Help businesses understand brand, communication and wider business problems.
Work with leadership teams to get from different opinions to a clear direction.
Developed a structured and symbiotic method of using human intellect and machine thinking to find gaps between how a business presents itself and what is really happening.
Getting troublesome projects over the line where others lose patience, interest or both.
Leadership
I’ve spent more than 20 years leading businesses, teams and projects.
Co-founded and ran an independent agency for 12 years.
Led teams in the UK and overseas.
Mentored an art director who went on to take responsibility for creative leadership.
Three-time Chair and former President of a respected networking group for media, marketing and advertising.
Managed teams of various sizes including one with UK and overseas direct reports.
Mentoring key players from startup to respectability, while building a global client portfolio.
Communication
Much of my working life has been about understanding complicated things and making them clear.
Work directly with founders, owners, boards and leadership teams.
Regularly present ideas, recommendations and pitches.
Run workshops and conversations that help groups reach decisions.
Write, present and communicate visually.
Have won competitive pitches against much larger businesses.
Commercial experience
I know what it means to have to win work, keep clients, pay people and keep a business moving.
Built a creative agency from scratch with two business partners.
Helped run it for 12 years, including through the 2008 financial crash and recession.
Won new business and built long-term client relationships.
Making things happen
I’m as interested in doing something about a problem as I am in talking about it.
Have led projects involving strategy, design, digital, film and communications.
Bring together different people and skills around a common job.
Comfortable leading, working as part of a team or getting hands-on.
